I'm a software engineer who mainly focuses on full stack and web development. However, I can help build software products with whatever language, framework, library, design pattern, methodology, etc. is necessary for the best project outcome.

I enjoy learning through teaching and mentoring, something I discovered about myself during my time getting my bachelor’s degree, and then later my master’s degree, when I worked as a teaching assistant.

In hopes of teaching others and giving back to the online learning community, I also spend time writing educational articles about various software engineering topics for my blog.

Nowadays, I mainly focus on doing full stack web development. I have done a lot of work using React w/ hooks and have experience in the Next.js framework to leverage server-side rendering with React Server Components. For back-end work, I've spent a lot of time in Java with Spring, and some time in Ruby on Rails.

Most recently, I've been learning Elixir and Phoenix LiveView, which is what this website is built with.

The best way for me to learn is to build. Over the years I have built many small side projects just for fun and as a good way to learn about new technologies.
